Le MSSS n’a émis aucune balise relativement à l’orientation de l’usager vers un type de ressource et le niveau de services de l’Instrument. Les établissements doivent s’assurer d’une bonne orientation de l’usager ainsi que d’un bon jumelage/pairage en fonction de ses besoins.

Le Règlement sur la classification a été élaboré pour identifier les services que les RI-RTF doivent offrir. Il établit une classification des services en six niveaux. Les usagers confiés à une RI ou à une RTF peuvent donc être classifiés du niveau 1 au niveau 6, selon les besoins et le plan d’intervention de chacun.
